We are located in Bloomington, Indiana, about an hour south of Indianapolis. Bloomington is surrounded by lakes and forests providing many recreational opportunities, including hiking, kayaking, boating and world-class birding! The lab is situated in the center of IU Bloomington's main campus, on the fourth floor of Simon Hall, IU's new multidisciplinary science building. We benefit from resources including the physical biochemistry instrumentation facility (PBIF) on the ground floor of the building. Adjacent to the PBIF we have a Electron Microscopy Centre that houses a Talos Arctica scope with Gatan K3 camera, that can achieve atomic level resolution cryoEM. In addition, the Macromolecular Crystallography Facility is literally down the corridor from our lab on the fourth floor.
Simon Hall also houses a NMR lab and outstanding mass spectrometry facilities. The adjacent Biology Building and Myers Hall house the Centre for Genome Biology and the Light Microscopy Imaging Center.
